Chapter Philanthropy

Our Sigma Kappa founders left us with a lasting impression of the importance of philanthropy. Service is one of Sigma Kappa's founding values, and as such, members of Sigma Kappa support multiple philanthropic causes.

Ultra Violet Volleyball Tournament

In the fall, Sigma Kappa gathers members of other fraternities at Rutgers University to compete against each other in a Volleyball tournament. Sigma Kappa organizes the entire day event and serves as team captains to the fraternity teams. This event is one of the most popular amongst all Greek organizations on campus, with over 300+ participants each year. The winners of the 2015 tournament were the gentlemen of Theta Chi fraternity!

The Walk to End Alzheimer's

Additionally, every fall our members participate in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Every Sigma Kappa across the nation hosts their community's 5k walk. This is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research.  Sigma Kappa as a whole raised 430,000 for this cause!

Maine Seacoast Mission

Over the summer a group of sisters went and did community service for the Maine Seacoast Mission. Where they participated in a lot of community service and got to get their hands on work with building handicap railings and building bunks for those in need!
